Description
The South Carolina Arts Commission funds arts-based projects that respond to issues and challenges in rural South Carolina. The program aims to expand access to the arts and give residents opportunities to develop artistic skills, make work, and participate in cultural activities. It also supports artists’ development through residencies and workshops and encourages the use of the arts in new contexts.
Projects can include exhibitions, digital projects, festivals, workshops, community murals, residencies, and performances with public engagement. Partnerships between libraries and artists or arts organizations are eligible. Supported disciplines range from dance, music, theatre, literature, and visual arts to public art and folklife and traditional arts.
