This award honors individuals for outstanding achievements in the field of organic chemistry, with a focus on accomplishments that have become significant within the five years preceding the award. The recipient receives a $25,000 prize, a medallion, a certificate, and reimbursement for travel expenses to present their award address at American Chemical Society (ACS) meetings. Additionally, the awardee designates a university or non-profit institution to receive a $150,000 unrestricted grant-in-aid (the Arthur C. Cope Fund Grant) to support research or education in organic chemistry.
