The Arthur E. Weyman Young Investigator’s Award is an annual research competition offered through the ASE Foundation and supported by the National Board of Echocardiography. It honors the board’s first president, Arthur E. Weyman, MD, FASE, and recognizes young investigators’ research in echocardiography and cardiovascular science.
Four finalists present their research to a panel of experts during the opening plenary sessions of the Annual ASE Scientific Sessions. The winner receives invitations to present at European and Japanese echocardiography meetings. Past winning work includes machine learning analysis of fetal echocardiograms, automated classification of regional wall motion, myocardial perfusion, molecular imaging of inflammation, and ultrasound-assisted gene delivery.
