Description
The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) supports artist-initiated open studio tours that bring the public into studios across Rhode Island. A tour must involve multiple artists in one building or in several buildings within a defined geographic area. The program is for artists working together to present their studios to visitors, not for gallery shows or art openings.
Grants support tour administration, production or presentation, marketing, and accessibility. Funds may also pay participating artists and arts administrators, including the applicant, for their time. A building-wide open studio and a shared art trail connecting studios across several towns are examples of the kind of collective tour the program supports.
