Description
The Artist Professional Development Grant supports Iowa artists of all disciplines in developing their artistic practices and professional skills. Administered by the Iowa Arts Council within the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), it funds learning, mentorship, and business development opportunities that help artists achieve a specific career or creative-business goal in Iowa. Eligible activities include conferences, workshops, artist residencies, classes, apprenticeships, coaching, professional feedback, and peer reviews.
The program aims to build artists’ capacity while strengthening Iowa’s creative industry. Funding comes from an Iowa Legislature appropriation to IEDA and a National Endowment for the Arts grant. The Iowa Screenwriters Grant is included within this program, supported by sponsorship from the Iowa Scriptwriters Alliance and Iowa Motion Picture Association.
