Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Artist Projects program supports original artistic creation in dance, fashion, film, literary, music, theater, visual, and multidisciplinary arts. Projects must take place in Franklin County, Ohio, demonstrate artistic, community, or cultural value, and provide a defined opportunity for the public to experience the completed art. Outcomes can include performances, exhibitions, installations, festivals, films, publications, recordings, and arts-centered community events.

The program centers creative freedom: artists initiate, conceptualize, plan, and execute their projects, independently or collaboratively, and retain final creative authority. Projects are branded under the artist rather than a business or nonprofit. Priorities include compensation for participating artists and alignment with GCAC’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement. Artists define their own goals and outcomes outside traditional or institutional frameworks.
