Region 2 Arts Council administers this project-based grant with funding from the McKnight Foundation. It supports artists, creators, artisans, craftspeople, and culture bearers at every stage of creative development, from beginning to expert. The program replaces the council’s former Individual Artist Grant and covers a broad range of practices, including visual arts, writing, music, dance, filmmaking, and traditional crafts.
Funding supports the exhibition, performance, or production of creative work and opportunities to develop artistic or cultural practice. Supported activities include purchasing materials or equipment, taking noncredit classes and workshops, learning from a master artist, mentor, or elder, attending conferences or culture-bearing activities, participating in residencies, and marketing creative work.
