Description
Women's Studio Workshop (WSW) offers an eight- to ten-week residency in Rosendale, New York, for artists to produce a limited-edition book work. Artists work intensively in the studios, printing and binding their own books, with encouraged editions of 50–100 copies. The residency provides round-the-clock studio access, onsite housing, technical advice, training on equipment and materials, and production assistance.
The program connects completed books with archival collections, institutional repositories, and general distribution and sale. WSW's artists' books are held in more than 450 collections worldwide, including twelve repositories holding the majority of its collection. Artists retain part of their edition, while other copies remain with WSW or enter distribution under a sales contract finalized upon receipt of the award.
