Description
Arts Access Assistance is a Kentucky Arts Council program supporting arts programming for underserved populations across the Commonwealth. Each grant cycle has a specific, timely theme. The FY2027 theme focuses on arts-based strategies that enhance individual and community health and well-being. The program’s broader goals are to extend the reach of the arts, enrich lives, promote lifelong learning, and increase arts participation.
The health theme encompasses mental health, belonging, resilience, social connection, physical activity, community engagement, public health issues, health-risk reduction, and health equity. Projects may combat loneliness and isolation, serve people recovering from natural disasters, trauma, or addiction, or benefit healthcare workers, caregivers, patients, and their families. Partnerships among artists, arts organizations, healthcare providers, and social service organizations are encouraged, with attention to physical and programmatic accessibility.
