Description
The Arts and Climate Grant is funded by the Executive Climate Change Coordinating Council (EC4) Advisory Board and implemented by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA). It supports artists across disciplines who turn complex climate information into accessible visuals, stories, and experiences. Projects should improve public understanding of climate impacts, mitigation, and adaptation while encouraging participation in climate action in Rhode Island.
Projects may be performances, exhibitions, classes, or other connected activities. Planning or curriculum development is eligible when it includes a pilot or public sharing. The program prioritizes work relevant and accessible to frontline communities and values two-way engagement that brings community experiences and concerns into conversations about Rhode Island’s climate future. Sustained engagement with a small group is valued alongside a well-attended one-time event.
