Description
The Japan Foundation’s Grant Program for Dispatching Artists and Cultural Specialists supports artists and Japanese cultural specialists invited by institutions outside Japan to participate in overseas cultural events. Activities include performances, demonstrations, lectures, and workshops that introduce Japanese arts and culture or contribute to international society through arts and cultural projects. The program is administered by the Performing Arts Section of the Arts and Culture Department.
This support forms part of the Foundation’s broader Arts and Cultural Exchange work, which introduces Japanese culture worldwide and promotes networking and professional development through interactive collaboration, co-production, and exchanges of specialists. Its FY2025 priorities emphasized public-facing exchange, efficient tours, multiple cultural events, major international festivals, diplomatic anniversaries, and activities in places with few opportunities for cultural exchange with Japan.
