Description
Connecticut Community Foundation’s Arts and Culture program prioritizes efforts that address inequities in access to the arts and expand culturally responsive experiences. It supports quality creative arts programs, community arts efforts, and partnerships that help established cultural institutions serve diverse communities in nontraditional ways. The program recognizes the arts’ contributions to education, economic development, quality of life, and connections between cultures.
Supported work includes participatory visual arts, theater, music, dance, and writing programs that create inclusive, supportive conditions and deepen connections to community life. Funding also supports opportunities to create and showcase work, collaborate, integrate arts with community-building, and reach traditionally underrepresented audiences. Artist development and efforts to build a thriving arts sector welcoming established, new, and nontraditional artists are also priorities.
