Description
Arts Build Communities (ABC), administered by the Oregon Arts Commission within Business Oregon, supports arts and community-based organizations, municipalities and Tribal governments in addressing local problems through arts-based solutions. Projects must integrate arts and artists with community goals and build local capacity through partnerships. Supported work includes new initiatives, program development, cultural tourism, expansion of arts and community development projects, pre-development, design fees and community planning.
The program prioritizes access for historically or currently underserved and under-resourced communities. These include communities facing systemic barriers related to geography, race or ethnicity, Tribal affiliation, immigration status, socioeconomic status, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status. Community engagement and leadership in project development, delivery and implementation are central to the program.
