Description
Arts on the Block is a grassroots grant program administered by the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA), supported through the New York State Council on the Arts Statewide Community Regrants Program. It helps small local organizations and block associations bring artists into neighborhood block parties and single-block festivals, increasing attendance and contributing to the cultural life of The Bronx.
Funding is specifically for artist fees, rather than general event expenses. Supported activities may feature DJs, spoken word artists, musicians, singers, dancers, live painting, crafts, and other artist-led activities that enhance the block party experience. Events must be open and accessible to the public. Preference goes to smaller organizations and organizations that have not previously applied for a BCA grant.
