Description
Established in 2023, the ARVO Foundation Research Catalyst Award supports investigators beginning their careers or returning to the workforce after an extended leave. Funded by the ARVO Foundation for Eye Research, it provides support for an initial research project built around a superb research idea. An additional annual award supports a retina research project through the International Retinal Research Foundation.
The program asks applicants to define their project’s expected outcomes, significance, design, and methodology, including how results could lead to clinical impact or subsequent research funding. Mentor or senior-colleague involvement and a plan to use existing research infrastructure are central to the proposed project’s success. Projects must be completed within two years of their start date.
