The ASA Science Policy Fellowship offers postdoctoral-level statisticians the opportunity to spend 1–2 years embedded in federal science policy work. Based primarily at the ASA headquarters in Alexandria, VA, with most activities in Washington, DC, fellows work closely with ASA’s director of science policy. The fellowship’s mission is to advocate for statistics in federal policymaking, initiate and lead advocacy efforts, maintain relationships with key policy officials, coordinate ASA’s participation in coalition events, and contribute to communications about science policy. This unique position provides hands-on experience in science policy formation and supports the advancement of the statistics profession in the public sphere.
