The Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB) Public Engagement Grants support the organisation and delivery of innovative, exciting outreach activities for young people and/or the general public. Run by ASAB’s Education Committee, the programme funds activities that communicate the science of animal behaviour, such as exhibition stands at science fairs, food festivals and community events, school visits, museum workshops, local talks and cake competitions.
The committee prioritises the quality, relevance and likely impact of the proposed event, including the benefits of sharing science with its intended audience. Applicants must identify the specific animal behaviours they will communicate. Where projects develop new activities that others can replicate, the programme makes practical Activity Packs available through ASAB’s website.
