Description
This award honors an outstanding scientist who has shown a sustained commitment to breaking down local and systemic barriers for scientists and students from historically marginalized or excluded groups. The recipient should actively encourage the participation of these groups in the scientific enterprise and/or provide effective mentorship to support their advancement. The award celebrates individuals who foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within the scientific community, and is named for Dr. Ruth Kirschstein, a pioneering pathologist and advocate for underrepresented voices in science.
