Description
The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) presents this award to an individual who has made exceptional contributions to teaching biochemistry and molecular biology at the undergraduate and/or graduate/professional levels. It recognizes educational excellence centered on student learning and mentorship, pedagogical engagement and teaching innovation, together with a commitment to mentoring and advancing the careers of individuals from all backgrounds.
Excellence may be demonstrated through the nominee’s own teaching, leadership in education, pedagogical publications, scholarship of teaching and learning, or educational research. The award is selected by ASBMB’s Education and Professional Development Committee, and the recipient presents a lecture at the society’s annual meeting.
