Description
The Lundbeck Foundation’s Ascending Investigator programme supports experienced, independent scientists in Denmark to develop their careers through frontline basic, translational, or clinical research. Its purpose is to deepen fundamental understanding of the brain and improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of brain and nervous-system diseases, while fostering world-class research at Danish universities and university hospitals.
Proposals may come from any field with strong potential to benefit neuroscience, broadly encompassing medical, technical, natural, and social sciences, as well as the humanities. The Foundation values cross-disciplinary work and a clear roadmap from anticipated results to impact on neuroscience or human health. International exchange and collaboration are encouraged, alongside diversity in scientific experience, cultural background, and education. Women and scientists of diverse ethnic backgrounds, among other groups traditionally under-represented in academia, are especially encouraged to apply.
