The ASCO Clinical Oncology & Research Experience (ASCO CORE) is designed to immerse medical students in oncology through structured mentorship, hands-on shadowing, and clinical research. Participants select either a Clinical Oncology Experience, focused on direct patient care, or a Research Experience, focused on oncology-related clinical research. Each student is paired with a mentor, attends the ASCO Annual Meeting for networking and orientation, and presents their experience in a Virtual Showcase. The program aims to foster early interest and foundational skills in oncology for future physicians.
