    Description

The ASE Foundation’s EDGES program supports early-career cardiovascular imaging scientists as funding opportunities decline. It aims to advance echocardiography through technical development and new applications that meet increasingly complex patient needs. Research may address new imaging technologies, novel diagnostic approaches or populations, ultrasound therapy, workflow automation, or patient and practitioner safety. No specific research theme is prioritized.

Projects need not complete an entire scientific goal, but should make substantial progress toward aims that can underpin further extramural or industry/investor funding. The program emphasizes clinical impact, innovation, scientific rigor, and career development. It also encourages partnerships among physicians, veterinarians, sonographers, engineers, and data scientists. At the PI’s request, experienced ASE scientists may provide an external mentoring committee to support the transition to future funding.
