    Description

This program supports U.S. scholars undertaking collaborative research projects on topics of priority to ASEAN or the U.S.-ASEAN relationship, with activities spanning two or three ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam). Scholars affiliate with host universities, think tanks, NGOs, or research centers, and are encouraged to engage with local communities through public talks and mentorship. Projects should address issues relevant to the broader ASEAN region, and participants may have the opportunity to present findings at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta. Areas of interest include ASEAN studies, comparative politics, economic integration, education, environmental science, international law, marine conservation, public health, regional security, and wildlife trafficking.
