Description
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) supports graduate and post-graduate study and research in the United States by citizens of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Fellowships are available in all fields and support programs lasting up to one year. The program advances ASF’s mission of promoting international understanding through educational and cultural exchange between the United States and the Nordic countries.
ASF administers the fellowships with cooperating organizations in each Nordic country, which recommend candidates to the foundation. Award numbers and sizes differ by country. Country partners provide application instructions and country-specific requirements. In Iceland, ASF and the Iceland-US Fulbright Commission jointly offer the fellowship, but its awards are separate from Fulbright grants and are not subject to the same restrictions.
