Description
The American Society of Hematology (ASH) HONORS Award supports the development of future hematologists through flexible, mentored research experiences lasting two to 12 months. It funds medical students and residents working on blood sciences projects in laboratory research or clinical investigation. Encouraged approaches include basic, translational, patient-oriented clinical, and outcomes-based research.
Alongside the research honorarium, recipients receive support to participate in two consecutive ASH annual meetings. An orientation breakfast connects awardees with members of the ASH Committee on Training and Trainee Council, who discuss research interests and recommend relevant sessions, events, abstracts, and posters. Recipients are also invited to the Career Development Awards Reception. The program encourages continued research careers in hematology beyond medical school and residency.
