Description
The American Society of Hematology (ASH) Medical Educators Institute develops future leaders in hematology education through a “boot camp” in teaching techniques, medical education scholarship, and career development. It is designed for junior faculty and senior fellows who see medical education as a major part of their professional roles and are new to or early in medical education careers.
Approximately 15–20 participants are accepted each year. The institute combines a kick-off dinner and three-day workshop at ASH Headquarters in Washington, DC, with webinars and faculty mentorship. Webinars begin before the workshop and extend over the following six months. Participants work toward completing a scholarly project in hematology medical education, strengthening their teaching of medical trainees, and identifying next steps in their careers.
