Description
The ASLA-Fulbright Pre-Doctoral Research Fellows Program enables doctoral students registered at Finnish universities to advance their dissertation research in the United States. Run by the Fulbright Finland Foundation and co-funded by applicants’ home universities, it supports research rather than coursework. The program is intended for students already well advanced in their doctoral studies and is suited to archival research, data collection, and other pre-doctoral research activities.
Fellows also serve as cultural ambassadors for Finland, their home institutions, and the Foundation. The program promotes knowledge exchange, professional connections, and mutual understanding between Finland and the United States. Personal advising, orientation to U.S. culture and higher education, networking, and enrichment activities complement the research stay.
