    Description

The American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships support promising students undertaking meaningful plant biology research during the early part of their college careers. Students pursue a project in a faculty mentor’s laboratory, either at their own institution or another institution, over 10 consecutive weeks when classes are not in session.

The program connects undergraduate research with the broader plant science community. Recipients must present their fellowship research at ASPB’s annual Plant Biology meeting in the year following the award. Selection considers both the student’s research potential and the mentoring environment, with the goal of supporting students and faculty mentors who will have the most significant impact on plant science.
