The Association of Clinical Pathologists (ACP) Travel Fund provides financial support to members, especially trainee members, wishing to attend scientific conferences or undertake educational activities overseas. Supported activities must have high scientific content, be professionally relevant, provide additional experience in the applicant’s specialty, and help further their career. The fund also supports travel to experience aspects of pathology unavailable locally.
The ACP Education Committee assesses the scientific and professional value of each proposed activity, with funding decisions made by Council. Courses devoted solely to education, without input from novel research, are usually directed to a career development grant instead. Applicants pursuing such courses are encouraged to combine attendance with hands-on experience to consolidate their learning. Funded members share their experience with the wider membership through reports published in ACP news.
