Description
ASSURE is a Department of Defense (DoD) program, listed by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and operated collaboratively with the National Science Foundation (NSF). It supports undergraduate research in DoD-relevant disciplines to encourage science and engineering majors to pursue advanced degrees. Its broader goals are to strengthen the U.S. science and engineering workforce and support technology essential to future national security.
Research experiences may draw on ongoing research programs or projects designed specifically for undergraduates. Projects must have a well-defined common focus and may involve one discipline or department, or multiple disciplines with a strong intellectual focus. Experiences should provide meaningful interaction with faculty and other research mentors, appropriate facilities, and professional development opportunities.
