Description
Astellas General Research Grants (GRG) support independent programs and projects that advance medical and scientific knowledge and innovation. Recipients retain responsibility for design, conduct, analysis and reporting. Examples include a university research program without a defined study or protocol, creating or continuing a registry, a medical society or research network program that independently selects proposals, and literature-based research leading to a manuscript. A specific analysis of registry data belongs under Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR), not GRG.
The Japan call supports longer-term clinical research or activities addressing challenges in treating the listed conditions. Examples include medical-information databases or biobanks established by medical institutions or medical societies, and epidemiological research or surveys. It does not support research evaluating the efficacy or safety of Astellas-marketed products.
