The ASTR Collaborative Research Award is intended to foster research exchanges across diverse academic and community contexts within the U.S. or between U.S. and international scholars/artists. The award encourages long-term collaborations between faculty from different types of institutions (e.g., state universities and small liberal arts colleges) and supports research in areas underrepresented in U.S. theatre scholarship, pedagogy, and performance practice. Exchanges may involve reciprocal visits, collaborative research or creative projects, workshops, seminars, public lectures, or jointly authored publications. The program seeks to enrich and diversify the membership of the American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR).
