Description
The Atlas Systems Mentoring Award is an annual American Library Association award sponsored by Atlas Systems, Inc. It supports attendance at ALA’s annual conference for library practitioners new to interlibrary loan, document delivery, resource sharing, or electronic reserves. The award combines travel assistance with mentoring to support professional development, networking, education, and service to the recipient’s local community.
The STARS Education and Training Committee assigns a mentor to help the recipient navigate the conference experience. The program focuses on practitioners with daily, hands-on responsibilities in borrowing, lending, document delivery, electronic reserves, material delivery, or resource sharing, rather than providing travel assistance alone.
