ATV/UTV Trail Aids supports Wisconsin local and tribal governments and federal agencies in maintaining, improving and developing ATV/UTV trails and riding areas to sustain off-road riding opportunities.

Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) administers ATV/UTV Trail Aids to support off-road riding opportunities. Funding covers approved trail maintenance, liability insurance, land acquisition, major trail and bridge rehabilitation, and development of trails, intensive-use areas and supporting facilities. It also covers eligible safety signage. Trails used in spring, summer and fall, as well as those available for winter riding, are within the program’s scope.
The program’s first funding priority is maintaining existing, approved trails and areas. Insurance and land-use agreements follow, then major rehabilitation and new development. The Governor’s Off-Road Vehicle Advisory Council makes funding recommendations to DNR.
