The Audrey Henshall Legacy Fund is administered by the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland to support high-quality, impactful research on pre-Roman archaeology in Scotland. Established through a bequest from Audrey Henshall OBE HonFSAScot, the fund reflects her wishes and research interests: it supports research or fieldwork on Scotland’s pre-Roman antiquities, with the results to be published by the Society.
Eligible work includes artefactual and scientific studies, field survey, desk-based research, and targeted research excavation at pre-Roman sites. The fund distinguishes targeted research excavation from general excavation work, which it does not support. Applications should explain the research’s aims, methodology, significance, and wider impact, including its relationship to relevant research frameworks.
