The Augusta Savage Grant is an annual unrestricted prize presented by the National Sculpture Society to recognize excellence in sculpture. It supports a talented emerging sculptor who self-identifies as Black or African American. Sculpture in any medium may be considered, with a preference for works inspired by nature. The award provides financial support without tying it to a specified project.
One recipient is selected through application review by a racially diverse jury of three sculptors and/or curators, including at least two members who are Black or African American. The program combines recognition of an emerging artist’s sculptural work with an unrestricted $2,500 award.
