Description
The Australia-USA Mobility Fund is run by the Australian Academy of Science and supported by the Adam J Berry Memorial Fund. It enables Australian PhD candidates and early-career researchers to host senior United States-based researchers at their Australian institutions for short, focused visits. Proposals may address any health-related field of natural science, with preference given to cancer-related research.
Visits must centre on the Australian applicant’s research development through mentoring, methods development, collaborative research, knowledge exchange or tangible research outputs. Activities may include seminars, methods clinics, short bench rotations and co-design sessions. The program aims to deepen expertise, strengthen international connections and establish longer-term Australia–United States collaboration. Benefits to the host organisation and visitor are valued, but the Australian applicant’s development is the primary purpose.
