Description
The New Jersey Department of Health administers this pilot program through the Governor’s Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism. It supports exploratory clinical research on autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including studies of etiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, interventions, and service delivery. Projects may test feasibility, analyze existing data, develop methods or technologies, or investigate novel ideas that could substantially advance autism research.
The program aims to improve the physical or behavioral health and well-being of people with ASD in New Jersey, develop best practices, and encourage new clinical teams across disciplines. It welcomes experienced investigators pursuing new directions and newer investigators gathering preliminary data for larger studies. Research addressing health equity and community-prioritized questions is particularly encouraged.
