The Autism Science Foundation (ASF) supports highly qualified undergraduates pursuing basic or clinical autism research during the summer. The fellowship provides hands-on experience with established autism researchers in laboratory, clinical, or community-based settings and aims to strengthen the pipeline of future autism scientists.
Supported areas include human behavior across the lifespan, neurobiology, pharmacology, neuropathology, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, epigenomics, immunology, molecular and cellular mechanisms, model organisms and systems, and treatment, service delivery, policy, and employment. Priority is given to students from traditionally underrepresented groups and under-resourced communities, or studies addressing racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic gaps in diagnosis and services. Students studying profound autism also receive priority.
