This grant provides $10,000 over one year to an early career investigator addressing a research question aligned with the mission of the Academy for Women in Academic Emergency Medicine (AWAEM). The focus is on enhancing recruitment, promotion, career satisfaction, advancement, and retention of women in academic emergency medicine, and advancing understanding of sex and gender in emergency care. Funding is intended for preliminary data collection, analysis, or pilot studies that can support future, larger research projects.
Awardees are expected to attend the SAEM Annual Meeting, submit interim and final progress reports, present their research at the meeting, and publish a first-authored manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal within two years of completing the award.
