The Award for Internship Excellence is designed to honor graduate library science students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement during internships at Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC) member institutions. The award celebrates both the professional growth of students and the role of sponsoring libraries in fostering inclusive, high-impact learning experiences. Special consideration is given to contributions that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA) in librarianship. Applications are reviewed by the SCELC Board of Directors, and both the student and the sponsoring institution are recognized.
