Description
Sponsored by the American Chemical Society, this annual award recognizes individuals whose volunteer efforts have contributed significantly to the Society’s goals and objectives. It honors service to ACS rather than funding a new research project. Eligible recipient backgrounds include industry, K–12 teaching, faculty, chemistry professionals, volunteers, and international members who meet the award’s membership requirements.
Recognized activities include initiating or sponsoring a singular endeavor, exemplary service as a member or chair of a national ACS committee, serving as an elected division or local section officer, and outstanding leadership in regional meetings or a local section. The award emphasizes service that benefits ACS, demonstrates innovation or impact, and supports the Society’s goals.
