Description
The Charles J. Goodwin Award of Merit is the highest honor bestowed by the Society for Classical Studies for scholarly books in the field of classical studies. Named after a prominent member and benefactor, the award celebrates outstanding contributions to classical scholarship, particularly works that deepen and broaden the understanding of the ancient Greek and Roman world through rigorous research and publication. Each year, up to three books published in the previous three years are selected for this recognition.
