The Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) administers the Geoscience Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, and Accessibility (IDEA) Scholarship to encourage women from underserved or marginalized communities to pursue education and careers in the Earth Sciences and Geosciences. The program aims to increase diversity in the future geoscience workforce through undergraduate educational support.
The scholarship combines financial awards with a one-year sponsored AWG student membership and optional matching with an AWG mentor to support recipients’ chosen career paths. It offers awards for both upper-division and lower-division undergraduates. Applicants who do not receive a financial award may still be selected for a sponsored student membership and may request an AWG mentor.
