--- ## Description The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Student Chapter Awards celebrate exemplary achievements by AWM Student Chapters in four categories: community outreach, fundraising and sustainability, professional development, and scientific excellence. Established by the AWM Executive Committee and presented annually at MAA MathFest, these awards highlight innovative programs, impactful outreach, robust professional development, and successful fundraising models that support women in mathematics. The awards aim to strengthen student chapters, research networks, and the broader mathematical community. Awardees receive recognition and a certificate at the MathFest Ice Cream Social. --- ## Due Dates - May 15, 2026: Nomination period deadline (via the AWM Student Chapter Annual Survey; nomination period runs April 1–May 15) --- ## Funding Amount - Awardees receive a certificate of recognition presented at the MAA MathFest. - No direct monetary prize is associated with this award. --- ## Eligibility - Open to any active AWM Student Chapter. - Chapters may self-nominate by completing the AWM Student Chapter Annual Survey. - For eligibility, chapters must be listed as active; see the [current student chapter list](https://awm-math.org/programs/student-chapters-info/current-student-chapters-list/). --- ## Application Process 1. Complete the [AWM Student Chapter Annual Survey](https://awm-math.org/programs/student-chapters-info/annual-awm-student-chapter-survey/) during the nomination period (April 1–May 15). 2. In the survey, provide detailed descriptions (up to 5000 characters per section) of: - Chapter governance and membership - Activities, outreach events, and funding sources - Innovative programs/initiatives - Future plans - Photos (optional, up to 3) 3. In Part 2 of the survey, describe activities in the four award categories: - Scientific Excellence - Community Outreach - Professional Development - Fundraising/Sustainability 4. Indicate your intent to nominate your chapter for the award by answering "Yes" to the relevant survey question. 5.
