Description
The Bader Award for Chemistry Innovation, sponsored by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, honors talented graduate students in the chemical sciences. Established in 2005 as the Alfred R. Bader Award for Student Innovation, it continues the legacy of Aldrich Chemical Company co-founder Alfred R. Bader and his commitment to education and inspiring future generations.
The award recognizes research addressing challenges in chemistry and aims to bring young scientists together to spark new ideas, push scientific boundaries, and support a vision of a more sustainable future. Recognized work spans covalent organic frameworks for environmental remediation and renewable energy, AI-guided small-molecule design, and molecular diversification for drug discovery.
