Description
The Bader Award for Chemistry Innovation, sponsored by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, honors graduate students whose research addresses challenges in the chemical sciences. Established in 2005 as the Alfred R. Bader Award for Student Innovation, it carries forward the Aldrich Chemical Company co-founder’s commitment to education and students.
The award brings emerging researchers together to share inventive work at the Curious2027 – Future Insight conference. Past winners’ research has included covalent organic frameworks for water remediation, AI-guided small-molecule design, and carbon–carbon bond activation. The 2026 selection focuses on the quality of research described in the application.
