Description
Mother Cabrini Health Foundation’s Basic Needs program addresses barriers to health and well-being caused by food insecurity, inadequate housing, economic instability, and difficulty accessing social services. It prioritizes direct services and programs benefiting poor, disadvantaged, or underserved New York State residents.
The program supports access to benefits and social services, including for people ineligible for public benefits; financial literacy, job training, and emergency assistance; services that help people remain safely and stably housed; and access to healthy, affordable, culturally appropriate food and nutrition education. It also considers longer-term approaches to nutrition security. It does not support the physical development of housing.
