Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) awards Basic Recycling Grants to responsible units to help plan and operate effective recycling programs. The grant covers reasonable and necessary costs attributable to single-family and two- to four-unit households, including residential recycling and yard waste activities. Eligible work can include education and outreach, collection and transport, employee time, utilities, purchased services, and rents or leases.
The program supports local collection of materials such as paper, cardboard, metal and glass containers, and eligible plastic containers. Grant assistance is based on estimated costs for the upcoming calendar year; recipients subsequently report actual recycling activities and costs.
