This award, presented by the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) and the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), honors significant achievements and original research in biological mineralization. It is one of the IADR Distinguished Scientist Awards, among the most prestigious in dental, oral, and craniofacial research. The award aims to stimulate and recognize foundational discoveries related to the mechanisms of mineralization in systems such as teeth, bone, ectopic deposits, or model organisms. The recipient receives a monetary prize and a commemorative plaque, with the award announced at the Opening Ceremonies of the IADR General Session & Exhibition.
