Description
The Basmajian Award, presented by the American Association for Anatomy (AAA), recognizes health science faculty in the formative stages of their careers who teach human or veterinary gross anatomy. It honors documented excellence in gross anatomy teaching alongside outstanding accomplishments in biomedical research or scholarship in education. Rather than supporting a specified research project, the award recognizes a combined record of teaching and scholarly achievement.
The record considered includes research publications and other scholarly outputs, anatomy teaching experience and publications, and service at institutional and professional levels. Recipients receive an honorarium, support to attend Anatomy Connected, complimentary registration and membership, and an award plaque presented at the meeting’s Closing Awards Ceremony.
